Great Decisions Discussion Group  

Great Decisions is a discussion group to engage citizens in learning about the world, and is co-sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association, the Durango Branch of the American Association of University Women, the League of Women Voters of La Plata County, and the Durango Public Library.

Great Decisions is America's largest discussion group on World Affairs. Admission is free and is open to all.  Please bring a brown bag lunch and join us starting Tuesday January 28, 2020, 11:45 AM -1:45 PM and continuing every 2 weeks until May 5, 2020.
This year we have an additional special bonus session scheduled February 18.

LWV La Plata has been co-sponsoring the annual Great Decisions Discussion series since the early 2000s. Our volunteer discussion moderators come from a wide background including our knowledgeable retirement community, Fort Lewis College faculty and those interested in fostering discussions related to foreign affairs. We invite all opinions to be shared.

Almost every nation has enacted laws criminalizing human trafficking, and international organizations, governments, and NGOs sponsor a large variety of projects to curb trafficking and slavery. Billions of dollars have been allocated to these efforts. What is the international community doing to combat slavery and trafficking? What are the experiences like for those being trafficked?
